Sugar and Lace Yogurt Cake

I had some yogurt to use up, and had company coming for dinner, hmmm, dessert! After perusing a few recipes online, I came up with this.
Start by preparing your pan(s). I used a 9-inch layer pan, buttered, with waxed paper on the bottom of the pan for easy removal later (lay it on the buttered bottom, then flip it over), then floured the pan. Preheat the oven to 350F.
Cream 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup sugar. Add 1 cup plain yogurt. Mix.

Add 4 large eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
In a separate bowl, measure 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cardamom, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. Sift into the wet mixture.
Continue to mix. Pour into pan.
Bake at 350F for 50 minutes.
To decorate, I used a paper doily, cut it into pieces that utilized most of the lace pattern.
Sift powdered sugar over the top.
Carefully lift off the paper doily, careful not to smudge the top of the cake.
